This year, the blog has so much more going on and I’m so excited to share it with all of you. Namely, November marks the start of the Year Three Movement: Fighting Dragons. Each year, S+I as well as Gravity, My Enemy has been themed around a different movement that influences all of the posts and highlights the things I’m pushing to be better at and hopefully inspiring some of you to do the same. Year one was “S6:E14 – Last Words” All about making sure that the last thing you say to someone is good, that we never really know when we will be gone from life and so we don’t have time to waste by being unhappy or rude to people we love. Year Two was “H.P.O.E – Happy People Over Everything” Which was honestly a rough year for me. I had to uproot a lot of things that I clung to emotionally and they were starting to wear on my happiness. I learned a lot this year, and I hope that through my struggles and by watching me overcome them, I got to you and helped you on some level.
As has become tradition, the new year for Salt + Iron Productions begins in November, as it was created on Halloween. Starting this year, I’m personally taking on the things that I’m really afraid of. The things that I feel would kill me inside. Just like a soldier in a story, I have to take up arms and start fighting my own dragons. Upcoming are going to be a lot of posts about doing the things that scare you, simply because they scare you.
I am so excited for this year, because I have tons more planned. Last year I released my first novel ever, and this year I’m planning on re-releasing it as I wasn’t pleased with how it turned out. Because of certain circumstances in my life I had to rush through The Darling Bones, and I am totally unimpressed with myself. I’m also working on the next book in the Precursor Six, entitled “Gold Rush” This month I am participating in NaNoWriMo (for more info go here: www.nanowrimo.org) Basically, I’m writing a 60K word novel in November. I started that adventure on the first and I’m so hyped for it.
A lot of changes happened at Salt + Iron recently, and I encourage all of you to head over to the website and have a look. I’ll also be posting updates bi-weekly there to make sure that you’re never out of the loop. (www.linmtba.com)
I’ve got a lot of great stuff going right now. Who knows how it will go? All that matters to me is that right now, in this moment, I’m having so much fun. J
